Apple has revealed that beginning next month, developers will be able to apply to receive an Apple Vision Pro developer kit to allow them to build, iterate, and test apps built for the new mixed-reality headset.
Apple announced Apple Vision Pro at WWDC23 on Monday, showing the world its first-ever AR/VR device that blends digital content with the physical world through a fully three-dimensional user interface controlled by a user’s eyes, hands, and voice.
Following the announcement, Apple has revealed that developers who have an iPad or iPhone app already on the App Store will be able to request a compatibility evaluation from App Review to get a report on how their app or game’s appearance and how it behaves in visionOS.
For a more hands-on test, developers will be able to apply for the opportunity to attend an Apple Vision Pro developer lab, where they can experience their visionOS, iPadOS, and iOS apps running on Apple Vision Pro, with direct support to test and optimize apps and games, so they’ll be ready when Apple Vision Pro is available to customers. Labs will be available in six locations worldwide: Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Lastly, Apple has confirmed that developer kits will be available to help bring apps to life for Apple Vision Pro. These kits will provide the ability to quickly build, iterate, and test on Apple Vision Pro. More details will be provided soon.
